What's new at Rent Logger

We aim to ship updates every week to make Rent Logger better for landlords, staff, and tenants. Here's what's new.

New features

New & improved

  • Auto Book is easier to follow for contractors and tenants. Contractor emails now include a button back to the job in the Contractor Portal. When a tenant asks for more dates, Amend & Resend keeps their reply pinned at the top with their photo, name and time — from the portal overview, job page, and main app. The Auto Book timeline now also shows appointment changes and cancellations, including who did them. On the tenant Job Bookings page, contractor notes appear in a clear yellow callout.
  • Auto Book diary hover now follows the pointer and updates as you paint slots. It shows arrival time and time of day, highlights which option the invite uses, and colour-codes availability so managers and contractors can open the right windows with fewer mistakes.
  • Auto Book invite wording is clearer: tenants book arrival by exact start time or time of day, with short help on each choice and why offering morning or afternoon windows helps contractors order same-day jobs for better travel.

New features

New & improved

  • Managers and staff can now customise the main dashboard. Use Customise to turn widgets on or off, drag them into order, switch between one and two columns, choose how wide each box is, and decide whether empty boxes stay on the page or hide. Save stores the layout for that person.
  • Managers and staff can now keep property bills in Rent Logger and post them to Xero. Use AI Document Scan to upload files or take a photo of an invoice, check the extracted supplier, property, accounts and VAT, approve locally, then post to Xero. Bills that arrive in Xero first appear in Xero Inbox until you allocate them. Filter the list by portfolio and property, select several records to delete or post together, and after a multi-file scan post the whole batch at once.
  • Invoices, bills, credit notes, bank transactions, and journals posted from Rent Logger now include a Go to Rent Logger button in Xero. It opens the matching invoice, expenditure, agent statement, or loan so you can jump straight back to the right record. Xero does not offer this on contacts.
  • Expenditure review now matches suppliers against your contractors, existing suppliers, and Xero contacts, so you can pick the right one instead of retyping. On Xero posting review, a linked supplier name opens the usual Xero contact details.
  • Xero organisation account mapping now supports extra custom slots for expenditure, so bills can post to the right purchase accounts. If an account is not mapped, posting review flags it and links you through to fix the mapping.
  • Agent statements now use the same AI Document Scan label as expenditure, so importing a PDF is named consistently across Finance.

  • Scanned expenditure documents now show on the review page on the live site. The preview could previously appear blank because the file was blocked from displaying in the page.

New features

New & improved

  • Portfolios can now publish a Rent Logger model privacy notice instead of only pasting their own wording. Choose the model template, complete the grouped questions, agree to the terms, and create a styled notice. Tenants see that published version in tenancy applications, data checkup, and acknowledgement invites. You can still write your own notice, or record that an agent's notice covers the landlord. Data retention is set as a number of months or years after a fixed event, ready for automatic deletion later.
  • The Privacy Notice tab responds as soon as you click, instead of waiting on a full page refresh. The Rent Logger model is marked as the popular option, and Download PDF uses the same teal branding as other primary actions.
  • Stage 1 of the landlords data retention policy is now available to edit in the landlord portfolio details page. Select the period before deletion can occur (stage 2 not built yet). Stage 1 now automatically enters the data retention policy into the privacy notice and any updates will require a replacement notice to be issued.

  • The published Rent Logger model notice now keeps its proper layout in tenancy applications, data checkup, and acknowledgement pages. Publishing no longer fails when organisation details are already set in Control Panel.
  • Certificate analytics stopped showing expired certificates. This has been resolved.
