Frequently asked
questions.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial.
Why is the pricing so reasonable?
We believe in fair pricing. We own the source code, so our costs are focused on maintaining and developing the platform — not licensing fees or middlemen. That keeps Rent Logger affordable as your portfolio grows.
What counts as a property?
Each unit you actively manage in Rent Logger counts as one property — flats, houses, commercial units, parking spaces, and holiday lets included.
How does billing work for room-only HMOs?
For room-only HMOs, each lettable room is treated as a separate property for billing. In the app, those rooms can still be grouped together in a block, with shared facilities managed at block level.
Is Xero included in my Rent Logger subscription?
No. A standard Xero subscription is not included in your Rent Logger fee and must be paid directly to Xero. Each Rent Logger account can have multiple Xero organisations connected if needed. See Xero UK pricing for their current plan costs.
Does my accountant need a Rent Logger staff account?
Usually not. Treat Rent Logger as your business front end — it handles property management and communicates with Xero as the accounting backend. Most accountants only need access to Xero, which they are already familiar with.
Can I have a mix of private, limited companies, and be VAT registered or not?
Yes. In Xero, add as many organisations as you need — sole traders, limited companies, VAT registered or not. Rent Logger will account correctly to each organisation type.
Can I add more properties or staff later?
Absolutely. Adjust your counts as your portfolio grows. Billing updates on your next monthly cycle to match your current usage.
