Agent statements and Xero plans
Rent Logger chooses how an agent statement posts from the organisation’s Xero plan and VAT registration. You do not pick a different method per statement. The full comparison is in Xero plans and what you can post.
1. How Rent Logger chooses
After you approve a statement, open Review Xero Posting to see the method that will be used.
In the app
- Open the statement
- Review Xero Posting
2. Ignite and above
Ignite, Grow, Comprehensive, and Ultimate post an invoice and a bill through the clearing account. That is the method to use. VAT-registered organisations need this.
3. Simple
Xero Simple cannot create bills, and it cannot submit a VAT return.
- If the organisation is not VAT registered, Rent Logger posts one bank transaction (Receive Money or Spend Money). There is no VAT invoice in Xero.
- If the organisation is VAT registered, Rent Logger will not post the statement. Upgrade to Ignite or above first.
4. Monthly allowances
On Ignite, the bill cap of 10 a month is usually what runs out first. One statement with fees uses one invoice and one bill.
- An HMO remittance that was split by tenancy still posts once to Xero. See Scan an HMO agent statement.
- Scanning and posting a statement is in Agent statement scanner.
