Utilities and meters
Utilities and meters is the record of gas, electricity, and water at the property. Council tax, broadband, and TV licences sit on Bills and services instead.
1. What they are for
Store suppliers, meter locations, and readings so you can find them at a tenancy change or inspection. Nothing is sent to a supplier.
In the app
- Properties
- Open the property
- Utilities & Meters
2. Add a supply, meter, and supplier
Start with the supply type, then complete the meter and who bills it.
In the app
- Utilities & Meters
- Add Supply Type
- Choose Gas, Electricity, or Water, and give it a label. Water can be metered or unmetered. MPRN, MPAN, or supply reference is optional.
- Add meter asks for a label, registers (for example single-rate electricity), and where it is. A serial number is recommended. You can add a photo of the meter.
- Add Supplier records who bills that supply and who is responsible (landlord, tenant, other, or unknown). You can turn supplier tracking off if you only need the meter.
3. Readings and reminders
Add Meter Reading records the date, whether it is actual or estimated, and a reason such as tenancy start or a routine check.
- Set a meter-reading reminder if you want to be told when the next reading is due. It can repeat monthly, quarterly, or on another pattern you choose.
- History shows readings and supplier changes for that supply.
